While I know many of you have been frustrated by the blogging exercise, I have to admit that it has gone much smoother than I was expecting. We are having some mystery issues, like why the professor isn't able to add a blog that others of us can (since I have to answer to her, I think I'll blame it on solar flares), or some people having trouble getting their blog to behave the way they expected, but I'm pretty pleased so far. Think about where we are compared to where we were a week ago - all of you have created an online journal where you can share thoughts and comment on your classmates' work, you've made it to the Blogosphere!!!
Our problems have come from trying to subscribe or link to other sites (relationships can be tough), we can work through those. Shortly I'll add information about submitting your posts by email, something that could be useful during emergency operations. Then we'll look at adding other files, including audio (I'm going to have fun with that one). A couple bumps in the road, but don't give up, you're learning a new medium for communication, once you're comfortable with it you will be able to apply it in many different situations.

I like your humor! And although I am still a little intimidated, I am very eager to make a few more mistakes but learn in the process. Thank you for everything.
Also, good call on the solar flares, you do not want to end up with the grade that we know you will get if you had said the other thing.

Of course, being the visionary and sterling leaders that each of you are in your respective fields, you all understand how "teflon leaders" undermine the group's ability to move forward. Teflon leaders...what are those?
Mmm, those people who never have anything stick to them, no mistakes, no wakes of disaster following their last memo, no burnt bits stuck on the bottom of the pan...
I've always had a knack for making public mistakes, picking myself up, dusting off the seat of my jeans, and moving the team forward. Being able to own and recover from your mistakes is a very important leadership skill.
If anyone is ever following a leader who never makes mistakes, question how much of the blame is going to end up in your own employee file.
It's been darned hot here in Central Virginia. Crispy grass all around where I'm sitting. It could well have been sun spots.....
